Though he is deeply missed, his spirit lives on in the lessons and warmth he left behind.

Sharpening Aptitude for Hepatitis Research Program (SHARP) meeting on 19th and 20th April, 2024. Jointly organized by JCMLRI and Stravitz- Sanyal Institute for Liver & Metabolic Health, Virginia Commonwealth University in association with Indian National Association for Study of Liver (INASL) and ICMR. The event as organized at Taj Vivanta in Kolkata. Among the notable guests were Director of ICMR Dr. Rajiv Bahl and Consul General of American Consulate at Kolkata – Ms. Melinda Pavek. The SHARP Program aims to mentor upcoming hepatologists. More than 20 young Hepatologist from all over India joined the program. SHARP fellows have been meeting periodically since then.

Remembering COVID martyrs: A joint Program by Covid Care Network and Liver Foundation West Bengal on March 24, 2024 at Mohor Kunjo in Rabindra Sadan Area of Kolkata. The event attracted people from different spheres of Life. Some of the eminent personalities who graced the event were Director Gautam Ghose, Singer Indrani Sen, Ex Director of Health Sciences Dr. Ajay Chakraborty and others. Everyone recounted their personal ordeals and the beloved ones they lost during the COVID. A demand for a physical COVID memorial was raised from the platform.

9th IILDS Foundation Day

9th IILDS Foundation Day was observed as Donor Appreciation Day on 27th February, 2024. The Donors, who had supported the IILDS from its nascent period were felicitated. A few donors shared their experiences of working with Liver Foundation West Bengal. An innovative memento was custom-prepared to mark their contribution on behalf of IILDS.

Public Health Festival

Public Health Festival was organized in Dayapur on 21st January, 2024 as the part of the project - Sustainable public health interventions through capacity building of local groups in remote islands of Sundarban tidal area. The Nursing students of Chandrakant Institute of Nursing and Health Sciences (CINHS) put up a nutrition display for the people coming to the festival. In addition, the members of newly trained Community Task Force displayed posters based upon their training. Dr. Abhijit Chowdhury addressed the attendees and talked about lifestyle affecting life. The festival attracted 250+ attendees.

২০১৮ সাল থেকে চলমান আন্তর্জালিক বিজ্ঞান দৈনিক পত্রিকা বিজ্ঞানভাষ (www.bigyanbhash.org) এর প্রথম মুদ্রিত সংকলন 'বার্ষিক সংখ্যা' হিসেবে প্রকাশিত হয়েছে ২৭ শে ডিসেম্বর, কলকাতা তথ্যকেন্দ্রে। ঐদিন কলকাতা তথ্যকেন্দ্রে একটি আলোচনা সভা হয়েছে। বিষয় - 'বাংলা ভাষায় বিজ্ঞান লেখার দ্বিধাদ্বন্দ্বের হিসেবনিকেশ' আলোচক - পলাশবরন পাল, পথিক গুহ এবং তুষার চক্রবর্তী। অনুষ্ঠানের সভামুখ্য পার্থপ্রতিম মজুমদার।

Liver Foundation, West Bengal has organized “Para Lekha Utsab” for children and SHG members of Para Lekha centres at Birbhum and Purulia on 5th and 6th May, 2023 respectively. An exhibition of children and SHG didis’ art and craft work will be displayed at the venue. Afterwards children of Para Lekha will perform on the stage. A children’s drama named “ Chasme Boddur” will be staged by a reputed theatre troop.

The annual sports of Para Lekha was held at Arsha, Purulia with 11 centres of Para Lekhaon 5th February, 2023. 340 children participated in the sports along with 32 SHG didis. The sports was is inaugurated by Dr. Nayan Mukherjee his wife, Mrs. Laxmi Mukherjee (social worker) and three sports teacher from Purulia town along with LFWB office team were present at the sports.

Seminar on ‘Jana Shikshar Prasar: Bhabnar Dik’ dated 18th January 2023 The ASER 2022 conducted by Pratham Education Foundation assessed the performance of children aged 3 to 16 in basic reading and arithmetic tasks. The release of a book titled 'কোভিড পরবর্তী বুনিয়াদী শিক্ষার পুর্নগঠন – পরিস্থিতি ও উত্তরণের পথ' during the event aimed to provide solutions for improving education amid the pandemic.
